Twin Centuries (104 and 114 not out) by Chamod Sandaru and a splendid 134 runs by Heshan Madushanka of Piliyandala Central were the highlights of the drawn first eleven cricket match against St. Peters College Negombo, worked off at Piliyandala. But anyhow Centralians were able to gain a massive first innings win by 205 runs and with this win so far this season Centralians have played eleven matches and they have five outright victories and five first innings wins and lost one on first innings.
Chamod became the first ever cricketer from his alma-mater to notch up twin centuries in the same match and first to achieve this rare feat in the on going first eleven cricket season.
In the first innings he made 104 runs and hit thirteen fours and four sixes and occupied the crease for 178 minutes and faced 149 balls.
He was associated in a fourth wicket partnership of 233 runs with Heshan Madushanka who scored 134 runs. In their second essay Chamod was unbeaten on 114 runs and he had eleven hits to the ropes and nine over and also had an unbroken partnership of 107 runs for the third wicket with Heshan.
Heshan hit 23 fours and one six and occupied the crease for 187 minutes and faced 164 balls.
Batting first Cetralians amassed 413 runs with Sasanka Lakmal too contributing 56 runs and in reply Negombo Peterites were all out for 208 runs with Laksitha Nishalanka too contributing 72 runs and in their second essay at stumps homesters were 181 for 2.
