Ranji Trophy 2018-19: Vinay Kumar Wants Decision Review System in Domestic Circuit
in the Ranji Trophy semi-final 2018-19, which eventually was marred by the umpiring howlers. The competition has witnessed a lot that included Cheteshwar Pujara. The Test specialist Pujara didn’t walk off twice when he edged the ball on day two and day four respectively during the coveted clash. Thus, it irked the hosts as Karnataka’s senior campaigner Vinay Kumar has voiced his opinion for the introduction of the Decision Review System ().
The top-order batsman Pujara was batting on one in the first innings and 34 in the second innings when he got the leeway. During the match, officials came under pressure in the high-octane clash when both teams played a competitive contest. He added if the (BCCI) can introduce the DRS it would be quite helpful in the live games.
“In most of the games, we will get those decisions which will go against us. But yes, if the BCCI can introduce the DRS, it will help,” Vinay told Cricket Country.
The 34-year-old right-arm fast bowler Vinay reiterated he is not going to blame the umpires. But he believes the DRS could be beneficial for the cricketers in a nutshell.

A prominent bowler Vinay hinted a single either good or bad decision could have an impact on the game.
“It’s all about one good or bad decision. I do not want to blame the umpires because they get very little time to decide. But if they can come up with DRS in domestic cricket. Especially in live games, it will be very helpful for the players,” Vinay added.
As the semi-final is done and dusted, Saurashtra at the M Chinnaswamy Stadium in Bengaluru.
However, Vinay is happy with the way they stepped up by giving cent per cent in the game.
Vinay cited at the kick off of the event the experienced players were representing which eventually saw players playing their debut games.
“Yes, we are very much happy. At the initial stages of the tournament, we did not get most of the senior players. Because they were out for the India A tournaments. Many guys made their debut this year,” Vinay asserted.
Karnataka’s road to the semi-final hasn’t been that easy. In the tournament which saw as many as 37 teams, Karnataka registered three victories and went on to draw as many fixtures—to wrestle against Saurashtra-led by.

“So, if you see our side, with not much of experience, the kind of effort the boys put to perform, in that way we are very happy,” Vinay concluded.
Besides, Vinay featured in 31 One-day Internationals, nine Twenty20 Internationals and a solitary Test. Overall, he bagged 49 scalps across formats in the national fold.
So far, he has featured in 130 first-class games to clinch 459 wickets at an impressive bowling average of 23.53.
