Shourrya helps Hi-Fliers win
Panchkula: Shourrya Pratap hammered an unbeaten 38 to help Satluj Hi-Fliers register a five-wicket win over Satluj Stunners in an U-12 Satluj Six-a-Side Tournament match at Satluj Public School, Sector 4, here, on Thursday. Batting first, Stunners scored 75/1 in 10 overs, with Aditya Saini hitting and unbeaten 40. Prabal added 24 runs to the total. Darsh claimed the only wicket to fall in the Stunners’ innings. In reply, Hi-Fliers rode on Shourrya Pratap’s knock to romp home in 6.5 overs. Daivik Balyan remained not out on 20. TNS

Chandigarh: Chandigarh Chess Academy in association with Trellis Garden will organise the HDFC Bank Open Chess Championship 2019 from February 2. The two-day competition will be held at Trellis Garden in Kharar, the orgnaisers said here on Thursday. TNS
Chandigarh: An all-round display by Angad Chahal helped Punjab & Haryana High Court XI beat Communication Xl by 18 runs at Mahajan Cricket grounds here on Thursday. Batting first HC XI scored 150/6 in 20 overs. Angad Chahal scored runs-a-ball 42, while Gaurav Dhir made 20 runs off 12 balls. Mithewal chipped with 17 runs. Manoj (2/36) and Rakesh (2/22) claimed two wickets each for Communication XI. Sukhwinder bagged 1/25. Needing to score 7.55 runs per over for victory, Communication XI could only manage 132/6 in the allotted overs. Sukhwinder Singh (56) did the bulk of scoring for Communicational XI. Angad Chahal was the most effective bowler for HC XI, claiming 2/29. Mithewal (1/23) and Raman (1/24) took a wicket apiece. TNS
Chandigarh: Gaganjot Singh has clinched two gold medals in the recently-held 64th National Roller Sports School Games in Belagavi, Karnataka. Gaganjot topped both rink and road race in the U-17 category. In the boys’ U-11 category, Nitin Singh won a silver medal each in rink race 1 and 2, while Aryan Gir finished as runner-up in the road race. Nodit Gupta bagged a bronze medal in the 500m in-line competition. TNS
